What is Millboard Decking?

Millboard is the UK's premium composite decking brand — engineered to look and feel like real hardwood, but with none of the maintenance. Made from a unique polyurethane composite reinforced with fibreglass, Millboard boards are incredibly durable, slip-resistant and stunningly realistic. No splinters, no fading, no annual oiling — just a beautiful deck that looks perfect year after year.

At 5 Star Decking, we are professional Millboard installers with extensive experience fitting Millboard Envello, Enhanced Grain, Weathered Oak and Lasta-Grip® boards across Surrey, Sussex and London.

Millboard Decking Collections

Enhanced Grain

The flagship Millboard collection. Deeply textured, hand-moulded from real timber for the most authentic hardwood look available in composite form.

Weathered Oak

A beautifully aged aesthetic that brings the character of reclaimed oak to your garden. Perfect for period properties and contemporary spaces alike.

Lasta-Grip® Pool Boards

Specially designed for wet areas — pool surrounds, spas and coastal decks. Outstanding slip resistance even when wet.

Envello Board & Batten

Millboard's premium cladding system — ideal for boundary walls, garden screens and fascias to match your deck.

Driftwood

Cool grey tones with an organic, weathered coastal feel. One of the most popular Millboard colours for modern UK gardens.

Smoked Oak

Rich, dark tones that complement contemporary architecture and black-framed glazing beautifully.

Why Choose Millboard Decking?

Zero Maintenance

No oiling, no sanding, no staining. Millboard stays looking immaculate with just an occasional wash — saving you time and money every year.

Realistic Hardwood Look

Hand-moulded from real timber planks, Millboard boards have genuine depth and texture that composite decking simply cannot match.

25-Year Warranty

Millboard decking comes with a comprehensive 25-year product warranty — one of the best guarantees in the industry.

Slip-Resistant

The natural texture makes Millboard inherently slip-resistant — safe for children, pets and pool areas in all weather conditions.

Eco-Friendly

Made with recycled materials and manufactured sustainably in the UK. Millboard is FSC-accredited and committed to responsible production.

Scratch & Stain Resistant

Millboard's Lastane® surface resists scratches, stains and UV fading — keeping your deck looking new for decades.

Frequently Asked Questions — Millboard Decking

How long does Millboard decking last?

Millboard comes with a 25-year product warranty and is built to last well beyond that. Unlike timber, it won't rot, warp or degrade with moisture — making it ideal for the UK climate.

Is Millboard decking slippery when wet?

No. Millboard's natural texture provides excellent grip in wet conditions. Their Lasta-Grip® range offers even higher slip resistance for pool surrounds and wet zones.

Does Millboard decking get hot in summer?

Millboard boards are cooler underfoot than many composite decking products due to their unique composition. Lighter colour boards stay noticeably cooler on hot days.

How much does Millboard decking cost to install in the UK?

Millboard is a premium product, typically starting from around £200/m² installed. The long-term savings on maintenance and the 25-year warranty make it excellent value over time.

Do you need planning permission for Millboard decking in the UK?

In most cases, no — decking under 30cm in height and covering less than 50% of your garden falls within permitted development. We advise on this as part of our free survey.
